Who you're dealing with
This site is operated by Portillo Technologies, based in Orange County, California. Throughout this page, "we" and "us" mean Portillo Technologies, and "you" means anyone using the site.
Questions about anything here go to info@portillotech.com.
Using the site
You may read this site, share links to it, and get in touch with us through it. In return, don't do the obvious bad things: no attempts to break, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the site or anything connected to it, no scraping at a scale that degrades it for other people, and no using it to send anything unlawful.
We may change, pause, or retire any part of the site at any time. We don't promise it will always be available or free of errors.
What's ours
The design, code, copy, images, and marks on this site belong to Portillo Technologies or to whoever licensed them to us. Nothing here transfers ownership of any of it to you.
You may quote short passages with attribution and a link. You may not republish substantial parts of the site, or use our name or marks in a way that suggests we endorse you, without written permission.
Client work shown on this site is published with permission and may include the client's own trademarks, which remain theirs.
What you send us
When you send us a message through the contact form or by email, you're telling us the information is accurate and that you're allowed to share it.
Don't send us confidential material before we have an agreement covering it. A first email is not the place for trade secrets, credentials, or personal data about other people. If we need that material to scope work, we'll ask for it under an NDA.
If you send us an unsolicited idea, suggestion, or feature request, we're free to use it without owing you anything for it. This does not apply to anything covered by a signed agreement between us.
No advice, no promises
Everything on this site is general information about what we do. It isn't technical, legal, financial, or medical advice, and it isn't a recommendation for your specific situation. Don't act on it alone.
Descriptions of past work say what was built. They are not a forecast of what any future project will achieve.
The site is provided "as is." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of this site, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, even if we were told such damages were possible.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability connected to this site is limited to one hundred US dollars (USD $100).
Some jurisdictions don't allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Links out
This site links to and embeds a few third-party services, including video hosted elsewhere. We don't control those services and aren't responsible for their content or their practices. Their terms govern once you leave.
Privacy and cookies
How we handle personal information is set out in our Privacy Notice, and how we use cookies is set out in our Cookie Policy. Both form part of these terms.
Changes
We update these terms when the site or the law changes. The version posted here, with its effective date, is the one that applies. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new version.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute connected to this site will be brought in the state or federal courts serving Orange County, California, and both of us agree to that jurisdiction.
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
